His commitment to his craft and his community was unmatched, evident in his role as a player, coach, manager, and builder within the lacrosse community.

As a player, Abe Thomas was a force to be reckoned with, representing St. Regis and Valleyfield with unparalleled strength and skill. His prowess as a center on the field was akin to a bulldozer, dominating opponents with his sheer might. His achievements speak volumes, from leading the scoring charts in the Eastern Ontario Lacrosse League in 1959 to being a vital member of eight championship teams.
